The Provincial Youth, Education and Sports Development Office (PYESDO) took part in Panublion 2026 of the Samar National School – Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SNS-SSLG), a significant event that featured the State of the Learner Government Address, the formal leadership turnover ceremony, and the awarding of outstanding achievements. The activity underscored the vital role of student leadership in fostering active participation, accountability, and continuity of service within the school community.

A highlight of the event is the outstanding accomplishment of SNS-SSLG as a three-time YES Awards winner, holding the record for the most awards received in a single night. This recognition reflects the organization’s consistent delivery of impactful, learner-centered programs and initiatives. Notably, during the 2025 edition of the annual YES Awards, SNS-SSLG secured victories for all three of its entries that reached the finals, further cementing its reputation for excellence in youth leadership and innovation.

“SNS-SSLG WILL ECHO THROUGH THE YEARS—A LEGACY THAT ENDURES.”
Danny Verzosa, PYESDO Program Manager, former SNS-SSLG President (2017-18, 2019-20)
PYESDO extends its commendation to the outgoing SSLG officers, led by President Klint Francis Langi, for their exemplary service and contributions. The office likewise expresses its full support to the newly elected set of officers headed by President Abeger Gabia as they carry forward the organization’s legacy.

In 2025, under the leadership of Governor Sharee Ann Tan, the Provincial Government of Samar expanded the YES Awards to include both secondary and elementary learner-led projects, making it the largest platform for youth recognition since its inception in 2021. This milestone continues to inspire young leaders to pursue excellence and meaningful engagement.
