CATBALOGAN CITY, Samar — The Provincial Government of Samar, through its Public Employment Service Office (PESO), continues to advance inclusive development as Samar PESO Manager Michael Cristobal completed the Certificate Program on Digital Inclusion for All Ages, conducted by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in partnership with CIFAL Jeju.

The program addressed the growing need for digital inclusion amid rapid demographic shifts, with one in four people in the Asia-Pacific projected to be over 60 by 2050. It brought together global stakeholders to tackle barriers to digital access and equip participants with strategies for inclusive digital literacy, accessible technology, and multi-sector collaboration.

The training supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 8, 10, and 16 and strengthens Samar’s ongoing initiatives to expand digital access for seniors, out-of-school youth, and underserved communities.

PESO Samar continues to implement programs such as JobsNext Samar and is advancing the Samar Manpower Skills Training and Development Center (SMSTDC) to further promote inclusive, future-ready workforce development.

PLGU Samar reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that no Samarnon is left behind in the digital age, in line with the Spark Samar Development Agenda.
