The Provincial Government of Samar has been recognized by the Department of Finance’s Bureau of Local Government Finance as Top 1 (Provincial Level) nationwide for Year-on-Year Growth in Local Source Revenues (LSR) for Fiscal Year 2024.

Governor Sharee Ann Tan welcomed the recognition with much enthusiasm, saying, “This accomplishment reflects the hard work of every Samarnon who believed we could build a stronger province together. We take pride in this milestone, and we share it with all of Samar.”

This distinction highlights Samar’s outstanding fiscal performance, its robust local revenue generation, and its strong commitment to transparent and effective financial management.
Moreover, growth in local source revenues signifies a healthy fiscal base, giving the provincial government greater flexibility to fund development projects.

As Samar continues to move forward, the province remains committed to pursuing programs that uplift lives, strengthen local economies, and create lasting opportunities for every Samarnon.
