The Provincial Government of Samar proudly announces the election of Jhunlie Escala, Provincial Youth Development Officer (PYDO) of Samar, as the National Vice President for Internal Affairs of the League of Youth Development Officers of the Philippines (LYDO-Philippines) during the organization’s recent national assembly.

Escala’s election is a recognition of Samar’s growing leadership in youth development and empowerment at the national level. In his new role, he will help steer the organization’s efforts in strengthening local youth development councils, advancing youth-centered policies, and fostering collaboration among local governments and youth organizations across the country.

Governor Sharee Ann Tan lauded Escala’s achievement, saying, “This milestone reflects not only Jhunlie’s dedication but also Samar’s unwavering commitment to investing in our youth. His leadership will open more opportunities for young Samarnons to be heard, included, and empowered in shaping the future of our communities.”

As National Vice President for Internal Affairs, Escala will play a key role in strengthening coordination among youth officers nationwide, ensuring that local youth development agendas are aligned with national priorities, and amplifying the voice of Filipino youth in governance and nation-building.
This recognition marks another significant step for Samar as it continues to champion innovative and inclusive youth development programs under the SIRAK Kabataan initiative and the Spark Samar Development Agenda.
