The Provincial Government of Samar, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry, announces the Malikhaing Samarnon: Creative Industries Summit, a flagship event bringing together artists, creators, MSMEs, educators, LGUs, and investors to power Samar’s creative economy.

Set in Catbalogan City, Samar, the summit will convene plenary talks, creative labs, digital space and policy dialogues on storytelling and film, music and performing arts, design and crafts (including banig weaving and allied crafts), gastronomy and tourism, digital/creative tech, intellectual property and branding, financing and markets, and community-based creative enterprise development.

“Creativity is a livelihood strategy,” said Governor Sharee Ann Tan. “Through Malikhaing Samarnon, we’re building pipelines from talent to training, from training to enterprise, and from enterprise to markets, so that creativity translates to better jobs and shared prosperity for Samarnons.”
