The Provincial Government of Samar was honored with the Platinum PFM Compliance Award during the recently concluded 2nd Eastern Visayas LGU–Public Financial Management (PFM) Summit held at the Radiant Hotel in Tacloban City.

Governor Sharee Ann Tan, in her message said, “This award does not only reflect our dedication to meeting targets and deadlines, but also our commitment to pursuing and upholding the standards set forth in public financial management. This recognition shows how much progress we have made in ensuring that we not only comply with what is required of us, but also continually strive to elevate the quality of governance and fiscal discipline in the Province of Samar.”

The recognition was conferred by the Department of Budget and Management Regional Office VIII, in coordination with the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force for PFM.

This distinction is awarded to local government units that submit complete Public Financial Management Assessment Reports (PFMAR) and Public Financial Management Improvement Plan (PFMIP) requirements on or before the initial deadline of September 30, 2025.

Earning Platinum status highlights the province’s commitment to sound fiscal management, transparency, and accountability, and reinforces its resolve to continue strengthening governance and public service across the region.
