Governor Sharee Ann Tan met with representatives from the University of Santo Tomas – Center for Conservation of Cultural Property and Environment in the Tropics (UST CCCPET) and the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM) for the final presentation of the Sustainable Strategic Tourism Development Plan 2025–2034 and the Sustainable Strategic Cultural Management and Development Plan 2025–2034.

The session marked the culmination of months of research and collaboration between the Provincial Government of Samar and UST, aiming to shape long-term, culture-based, and community-driven development strategies.

“These plans are more than just frameworks. They reflect our collective vision for sustainable tourism and cultural preservation in Samar,” said Governor Ann Tan.

The tourism plan outlines initiatives to develop tourism circuits, promote community-based tourism, and strengthen infrastructure. The cultural plan highlights key heritage sites, traditional practices, and preservation strategies.

The implementation of both plans will begin in Governor Tan’s upcoming fresh term, signaling a new chapter of sustainable and inclusive growth for the province.
