Huraw as a tourism destination, the Department of Tourism–Eastern Visayas, in partnership with the Samar Provincial Tourism Office (SPTO), conducted a comprehensive Mountain Guides Training. This initiative aims to further equip our local guides with the essential knowledge, practical skills, and safety protocols necessary for responsible and professional mountain guiding.

The training covered key topics such as trail management, emergency response, sustainable tourism practices, and visitor handling—ensuring that guides are not only well-versed in the terrain but are also advocates of environmental conservation and cultural preservation. This capacity-building effort underscores our commitment to promoting Mt. Huraw as a safe, sustainable, and enriching ecotourism destination for all.”
