The Provincial Government of Samar has successfully completed the 1st batch of the Quick Medical Record System: IT Personnel Training for provincial and district hospitals, conducted from April 7-28, 2026. The initiative, led by Governor Sharee Ann T. Tan in partnership with Governor Jericho “Icot” Petilla from the Provincial Government of Leyte, is part of the Province’s ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery through digital transformation by improving patient data management, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring timely and accurate access to medical records.

The activity is spearheaded by the Provincial Information and Communications Technology Division (PICTD) under the leadership of Mr. Toribio Daganzo III. The hands-on training for hospital IT personnel was facilitated by experts from PLGU Leyte— Ms. Clarisa D. Maderazo, Head PGO-Special Project and Mr. Francis Albert C. Turalba, QMeR Project Manager—to ensure effective system use and knowledge transfer.

The training was held at the Samar Provincial Gymnasium, with active participation from hospital representatives across the province.

The QMeR training continues, with the 2nd batch currently underway to further expand system adoption and capacity across healthcare facilities.
