The Capitol Grounds in Catbalogan have once again opened their doors to innovation and enterprise as 21 promising young business enthusiasts take center stage for the 3rd YES Start-Up Camp for Young Entrepreneurs. Running from August 6 to 11, this annual event offers a vibrant platform where ideas come to life, skills are sharpened, and the entrepreneurial spirit is celebrated.
Board Member Ingrid Cabarriban, the Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation President, said, โ€œThe 3rd Yes Start-up Camp for Young Entrepreneurs is more than just a program. It is a beacon that casts its light upon the boundless potential of Samarโ€™s Youth, illuminating the path towards inclusive grassroots economic transformation.โ€

โ€œGov. Sharee Ann Tanโ€™s commitment in cultivating the entrepreneurial spirit of our youth has transcended policy, it has become a legacy. Through her dynamic governance, this start-up camp was not only conceptualized but realized as a living laboratory where young minds become makers, dreamers become doers, and ideas are not just discussed but brought to life,โ€ BM Cabarriban added.
Now on its third year, the Start-Up Camp continues to be a springboard for youth-led business ventures, offering real-world experience in branding, marketing, and customer engagement. With stalls set up and products on display, participants are bringing their creativity and hard work to the forefront, offering everything from local delicacies and ready-to-wear apparel to souvenirs, lifestyle items, and handmade crafts.

Beyond showcasing products, the camp creates space for learning and collaboration. It is a chance for participants to test their business ideas in a live market environment, engage with real customers, and fine-tune their sales strategies. More than a business fair, it is a training ground where confidence is built and entrepreneurial mindsets are shaped.

This yearโ€™s camp also seeks to draw in a diverse audienceโ€”local consumers, tourists, students, young professionals, and business advocatesโ€”all coming together in support of youth entrepreneurship. The event is not only a celebration of local talent and creativity, but also a clear statement that Catbalogan and the province of Samar are serious about investing in the future of business and innovation.
By empowering young entrepreneurs today, the Start-Up Camp builds tomorrowโ€™s job creators and community leadersโ€”one product, one sale, and one bold idea at a time.
