The Provincial Government of Samar successfully conducted the Provincial Nutrition Summit and BNS Congress 2025, reaffirming the importance of collaboration and co-creation in advancing nutrition programs across the province.

The event highlighted the ongoing efforts of Governor Sharee Ann Tan through the Tutok at Aksyon sa Nutrisyon – Super G Program, which builds on the foundations of the Tatak Tangkad initiative of then Governor, now Congressman Reynolds Michael Tan. These programs reflect Samar’s sustained commitment to improving the nutritional well-being of children and families throughout the province.

The summit brought together key provincial and local officials, including Vice Governor Arnold Tan, Board Member Dawn Diomangay, Board Member Emmelly Olaje, Board Member Ruby Delector, Mayor Sed Hendrix Tan of the Municipality of Pagsanghan, and Mayor Percival Ortillo, Jr. of the Municipality of Marabut. Regional and local partners were also in attendance, notably National Nutrition Council representative, Ma’am Annabel Limbagan and DOH–Eastern Visayas Nutrition Program Manager Ma’am Felicita Borrata.

Outstanding Local Government Units, Local Nutrition Action Officers and Barangay Nutrition Scholars were recognized for their exemplary performance in implementing nutrition programs and contributing to improved health outcomes for Samarnon children and families.Representatives from the business sector, the academe, and community nutrition frontliners were also in attendance.
